Professor Duncan Campbell
Professor Duncan Campbell is a New Zealand sinologist, translator and specialist in Chinese classical gardens. He has taught at the University of Auckland, Victoria University of Wellington and the Australian National University. He previously served as Director of the Liu Fang Yuan Garden and Head of the East Asian Garden Art Institute at The Huntington Library, and took part in the design of the Wellington Chinese Garden, Hui Yuan, in New Zealand’s capital. His research focuses on Ming and Qing literature, material culture, classical Chinese gardens and book collections. His translations include Tao An’s Dream Reminiscences, West Lake Dream Searching by Zhang Dai, Seven Collections by Qian Zhongshu, and Tracking Down Ancient Libraries by Wei Li. He also edited Dumbarton Oaks Anthology of Chinese Garden Literature. In 2016, he received the 10th Special Book Award of China.

Professor CHENG Pei-kai
Professor CHENG Pei-kai earned his History PhD at Yale and pursued postdoctoral studies at Harvard’s Fairbank Center. He taught at SUNY, Yale and National Taiwan University, founding
CityU Hong Kong’s Chinese Culture Centre in 1998 for interactive Chinese cultural education. He chaired Hong Kong’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee and led the Our Hong Kong Foundation’s Chinese Culture Association, receiving the Medal of Honour in 2016. His research spans cultural history, aesthetics, translation and crosscultural exchange, with dozens of books including Wind and Rain Through My Life and over ten edited series on ancient tea texts and heritage.

Animation Producer and Director Chelo Loureiro
Chelo Loureiro is one of Spain’s most distinguished animation producers and cultural leaders, with over thirty years of experience in animation production, international co-production and cultural development. She is the founder and Executive Producer of Abano Producións, an independent production house renowned worldwide for auteur-driven animation, artistic excellence and cultural storytelling. Throughout her career, she has produced multiple acclaimed animated works that have won awards and official selections at major international film festivals. The Spanish Government awarded her the Gold Medal of Fine Arts, one of Spain’s highest cultural honours, for her outstanding contributions to art and culture.

Professor Kengo Kuma
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan in 1954, Kengo Kuma founded Kengo Kuma & Associates in 1990. He is a Distinguished Professor and Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo, a former professor at Keio University, and a Member of the Japan Art Academy, with projects completed across more than fifty countries globally. He has authored dozens of books, including Negative Architecture, Natural Architecture, Point, Line, Plane, Japanese Architecture, All Works, and Small Architecture. His major honors include the Architectural Institute of Japan Award, Togo Murano Award, Mainichi Art Award, Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (France), Medal with Purple Ribbon, Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, Japan Art Academy Prize, and Louis Kahn Prize.His representative projects comprise the Nezu Museum, Japan National Stadium, V&A Dundee (Victoria and Albert Museum, Dundee), and Portland Japanese Garden Cultural Village.

Simpson & Brown
Widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading historic heritage conservation practices, Simpson & Brown was founded in Edinburgh in 1977. Abano Producións
Based in Galicia, Spain, Abano Producións is an animation production house focusing on 2D, 3D and stop-motion animation for both adult and young audiences. Founded by Chelo Loureiro, the company boasts deep expertise in auteur animation, international co-production and cultural narrative. Its key works include Valentina, Unicorn Wars, Sultana’s Dream and Decorado. Valentina took home the Goya Award for Best Animated Feature in 2022, while Decorado won the Goya Award for Best Animated Short in 2017. Founder Chelo Loureiro received the Spanish Government’s Gold Medal of Fine Arts for her exceptional contributions to Spanish culture and the animation industry.
